The 3D contouring (pencil trace) toolpath is designed for removing material along bi-tangencies, that is the areas where there is double contact between the cuter and the part, such as corner edges and valleys. WorkNC automatically detects the "double tool contact" points based on the surface geometry and the cutter size and generates a single pass to cut along these bi-tangencies in the selected machining zone.
