Planar finishing is the standard finishing toolpath and is suitable for use with a range of materials. Machining is carried out in parallel passes following the surface profile of the part with a constant stepover in the plan view. Radial lead-ins and stepovers may be specified to give a smooth transition onto the part and in between the cuts.
